Do not let a mechanic work on your vehicle unless they are A.S.E. certified. An ASE certification means your mechanic has a minimum of two years’ experience in auto repairs. This certification also requires that he or she passes a written test. This means you will have an expert working on your car.

Referrals are a great method for finding a great auto mechanic. Ask friends, family or co-workers for recommendations. They will be able to give you a heads up about satisfaction, quality and price. Avoid the mechanics who overcharged your friends or were not honest with them.
